It sucks for us devs too. I feel sad every time someone asks if there is an Android version of Balanced, and I have to say no. Unfortunately it’s a matter of hours in the week. Until recently I’ve had a day job and did app dev on the side, which gives only just enough time to support one platform.

I actually got a mass-email from Uber the day before Halloween reminding people that surge pricing was likely to be in effect on the holiday. I have some issues with Uber, but they're pretty clear about their surge pricing.

I'm not sure about the price, but you have to type in the surge multiplier to confirm you're aware of it. So she knew that it was going to be 9x the normal rate.
