If the “mandate” is for 35 mpg, and the largest vehicle that can achieve that seats just 5 passengers, but the Ramirez family has four children and lots of sports equipment...and they all cannot fit in a mandate-compliant Honda Accord. Thanks to Amazon hosting vintage Top Gear episodes, I re-watched series 7-10, which I consider peak TG. Almost all episodes were lightning in a bottle...containing an exuberance and joy that, over time, has become more mature and in many ways, predictable.
