You missed the best part of the ad - the opener in the description:

He says he spotted the car on Interstate 10 near Cabazon, California, roughly 90 miles east of Los Angeles.”

At least the wheel arches are bad on both sides!

Was in Daytona for the Daytona 500 this past February - saw the same car cruising up and down the beach.

If I’m honest, I hate donks less than I hate stanced cars. At least donks can defeat speedbumps and mildly graded driveway aprons.

Obligatory....

CP, crooked wheel arche... looks good otherwise

Miata. And not because miata is always the answer

Drive for another team the first few times to get a feel of how you want to do things?

Yeah, I’m definitely not defending the choices. Lack of equipment and lack of awareness => lack of XJ.

Is it even worth bothering to worry about the rollover safety on the roof of a 20 year old Jeep? Obviously it’s NOT GOOD. It never was, even when now. So fix it so it looks good, and if you’re nervous, throw a roll cage on the inside.

I just don’t get why he didn’t winch it out the first time? If you don’t have a winch get a comealong.

Per the article, the heavy snow started just as he got stuck. If he was any distance from the main road, he’d have to shovel a hell of a lot of snow for clearance.

Grew up there. What he did was stupid, but not unheard of. I’ve seen plenty of vehicles get buried, only to reemerge in the spring melt. But this year was epic for snow and we got several late storms that were extra wet. While this doesn’t state the elevation, there’s a good bet it was under 8000ft and the water

Perhaps the next project Jeep should start with a metal detector, a shovel, and a trip to Tahoe.

Are you seriously quoting the man in the arena speech to defend Elon Musk? Come on now, man.

Do it without tax money and incentives and I’ll leave you alone.

Allow me to highlight what I think is an important part of your quote:

Wut? Look, many of us like parts of what Musk does.

Remind me again, how many decades does Tesla get to call itself a start-up?
