Which is a lot better than the older I-Beam setups of yesteryear.
The 4wd class at Dakar mandates much smaller tires which help keep items from breaking. Also, Baja is an all out sprint so the abuse dealt out is much greater. Also, less wheel travel.
If the courses get rougher and have more silt hill climbs I think he’s got a shot. He did just qualify 5th out of 30 TT’s for tomorrow’s Baja 500. It’s a start.

For many years. I think I finally killed my knees doing a 24 hour race singlespeed. They’ve never felt the same since and I added gears just a few months after that. I still miss the SS simplicity. I still hate having to take care of the chain... Maybe I’ll go back...
