Buy both used and you can do it!! I did
Maybe not bought as a pair in the sense you meant, but I like a pair that complements each other. Here's what I have. I bought these two used. These two cars together cost the average price of a new car these days, but fulfill so much more. :-)

The Chopper racing baja always gets the award for Biggest Balls, IMO...
Well, don't I feel embarrassed. I wore a jacket while riding the motorcycle to work today... Hey, it's only 72 out in Phoenix, AZ.

I am ready for a car camping trip like yours next weekend. :-)
Nah, I win. I was at the bottom of the Grand Canyon fly fishing, camping and hiking with friends. More remote = more better. ;-)
Agreed. Both in combination. Save up and buy it in cash and get a couple year old car so the other guys takes the depreciation hit. (Also, no tax on used car says from private parties in my state so there's another chunk of change to save)
