Manufacturers do some weird electronic stuff sometimes. My abarth with automatically put the rear wiper on when I put the car in reverse and the front wipers are on, so there’s cross talk between the transmission and the wipers.

I live around the block from the dealership that sells the most M cars in the US, so I probably wouldn’t have a hard time finding one on a lot. Obviously the out the door price isn’t the same as the MSRP. The MSRP of a base model 340i is only $4k less than a base model M2. Just get the M2.
