Celebrated my 11th wedding anniversary with my desert queen, got to ride the bike for a few hours, and made burgers for Sunday lunch.
Let’s all recognize The Awesome of our fellow Opponauts.
Probably one of the most Oppo movies out there. Shitty cars, work related stress, relationship related stress, vintage Japanese motorcycles, saucy Italians, the occasional gun...
Oppo seems to have caught the two wheeled fever. Welcome to the club, everyone.
The Sweating Season has begun. Time for evening cold showers.
Received an email last night informing me I was accepted to grad school. That, along with getting hired for a full time STEM teaching position is making this a pretty good month.
I recently found out that I’m considered an Italian citizen as a result of Italy’s “Blood Law”. Basically, Italy automatically grants citizenship to the kids of Italian citizens, even if they’re born outside of the US and never request it. It originally only applied paternally, but allowed women to pass on citizenship…
It’s Isle of Man time. Who’s coming with me next year?
Should have chose a topo map, communication and proper footwear. But yeah, prayer works too, I guess. I credit Alabama with her rescue. That and getting lost in a moist environment.
Appropriate buffer image.
It was a night of firsts for me. I cooked up some breakfast for dinner, Indian style. Aloo parathas with okra and onions that I pickled a few days ago. My oldest said it was her second favorite dish behind spaghetti, which says a lot coming from an Italian.

I’m actually a dog.
I’ve been watching the Netflix series “Street Food” and it put me in the mood for some street food. I cooked up some pad thai with shrimp for me and tofu for the wife and kids.
My second Sonoran Desert tortoise came out of rumination today. It’s been hiding for the last few months. These guys are endemic to the Sonoran Desert of Arizona and northern Mexico and are considered a threatened species. Their populations have declined by 80% since 1980 mainly due to habitat destruction and the…
Well, it seems I could only squeeze 80k miles out of the rear main seal. To Chrysler’s credit, they’ve only been making this engine for thirty years, so they may need some more time to figure out how to make a proper seal. On a positive note, the pilot bearing also seems to have a similar lifespan, so I’ll only have…
Peasant warrior queen. Burned at the stake. History isn’t always black and white.
