Something I’m wondering that’s tangentially related to this: did Trump ever actually have a good sense of humor? I think that, even though people always knew he was an egomaniac, there used to be a perception that he was capable of making fun of himself(I thought the first SNL episode he hosted was pretty funny).

Considering the show did several ‘90s movies during its original run its weird that so far Atlantic Rim is the only movie the revival’s done that’s from the ‘90s or later.

Even in the closest states Trump won he won by at least 10,000 votes, and unlike in 2000 we would’ve needed several states to change the outcome.

The only other time someone hosted SNL while running for president was Al Sharpton in 2003 and that didn’t do shit, so I don’t see any precedent for the idea that hosting SNL would normalize a presidential candidate.
