dont do it! i traded my ‘08 m3 in for a 911 turbo earlier this year and regretted it immediately. that porsche was up for sale the same week it arrived. im now back in another (different) bmw with a v8 and lovin life!

I owned an e90 m3 for 7 years too. i agree on the weight and low torque but never had a problem enjoying it as a daily driver. i racked up 55kmi on its before trading it in and loved every mile of it. did i shift less often because the low end torque sucked and hearing that v8 (with an aftermarket exhaust) at high rpm…

best “you can buy a...” article yet because a. i owned this car since new till earlier this year and it is indeed the tits and b. you mentioned the most important maintenance issue; the rod bearings which are indeed a concern on this car at its mileage.
