“Woke,” nothing. I work in a STEM field, it’s been a long damn week, and I’m tired of male bullshit.

#humblebrag

Goddammit, you’re turning me into a guy who says stuff like “If you’re going to say shit like ‘Oscar-winning actress Michelle Williams and former leader of the Funky Bunch Mark Wahlberg’ would you be ok with someone describing “Multiple Oscar-nominee Mark Wahlberg and former Dawson’s Creek co-lead Michelle Williams.”

Supply and demand. There are a whole bunch of the former and very few of the latter. Just or not, paying 3.2 million full-time-equivalent public school teachers (not to mention all the private school teachers and not even touching on the other categories of people you mentioned) $600,000 annually is nowhere close to

“Screenwriters should write more leading roles for Michelle Williams, and for women in general.”

Breach of contract is a civil offense...

So if these men don’t speak out, they’re criticized, but if they do, they’re criticized anyway. Why say anything?

It must suck to be this unhappy and bitter about everything.

Dude Facebook has no power to demand it’s users share anything about themselves. If you do it, you are doing it because you want to. We don’t live in a totalitarian dictatorship run by Facebook here.

But their male peers—like the newly “woke” Justin Timberlake, who co-starred with Winslet in 2017's Wonder Wheel—have managed to elude the same kind of bad press entirely, largely because they haven’t been asked about working with Allen in the same way, if at all.

Or, Snapchat reminds employees that those who fail to observe their contractual agreements will be prosecuted. Sounds less threatening when accurately titled.

“This is about the women. Men should not be trying to make this about themselves.

“Men should be quiet and listen to what the women have to say about this topic. Also, why aren’t the men speaking up?”

I’d like to formally announce the Critical Thinking Challenge

No Autoplay videos, popups, or obtrusive ads

This very straightforward video made me laugh though

Comment section is exactly what I was expecting. People got adblock for a reason. That reason hasn’t gone anywhere. Fix the problem, and maybe people will reconsider. Instead, it gets worse like the current fad of autoplay videos.

The recent PBS NOVA program Black Hole Apocalypse narrated by Janna Levin included a bunch of women scientists as talking heads. I’ll say this, Dr. Levin did such a good job explaining the physics behind black holes that even I understood the gist. On the other hand, String Theory as explained by Brian Green on NOVA

With LA traffic, 400 miles might be the only amount of distance you can cover reasonably in two years.
