SATA (or eSATA). there isn’t the ‘middle’ connector like on IDE, but there are still master/slave labels on the MOBO at the connectors. i think anyway

hmm, i kept swapping the slave and master cables to no avail, and adjusting boot order, and could never get it to start with other drive in (just got stuck in bootup), never tried to check in disc management though.
