This is a weird spot. I think Cars 3 was a better “cars” movie than Cars 2, which was a random spy movie in Europe that made no sense whatsoever. But Cars 3, while making more sense, was a really straightforward story with nothing unique to it. Cars 2 was almost sort of fun, even if it made no sense as a Cars movie.
