I misspoke but yes the judge is doing her job but in my mind she's correcting the screw up of the DA.

The castle doctrine won’t work and the defense team would be stupid to try that, also the judge made the right choice to include the lesser charge because otherwise Amber walks free, there’s no chance she would have gotten murder because there’s not a shred of evidence to prove that.
