The last night of service before our shutdown, a woman at one of my tables left a $200 tip. I almost started ugly-crying.

But “no lowballers because I know what I have.”

Can we get Perez out of retirement?

We regulars miss our regular places and their staff too.

Get yer sports talk out of here!!! The GMO sites are no place to talk sports!!!

Someone took one of the worst eras of corvette and put the worst Viper body on top of it, but did so as poorly as possible.

8:03 and someone’s already been That Guy.

The companies producing oil are getting screwed? So the massive profits they have amassed (at a cost to us all) mean nothing now? I say happy day. Fuck those greedy bastards.

The oil spat keeps getting misrepresented everywhere; it was really an oil spat between Russia and the USA; Russia was targeting US production with their dropped prices, but the extreme dependence on high oil prices to drive their economy compelled the Saudis to also drop prices.

“...(L)ike with almost everything in economics, things are not as clear as you’d think and there’s complexity and nuance ...”

It is hard for me to imagine that the problem with Lynch’s Dune was that he didn’t have the final cut (wouldn’t you imagine that his preferred version would make even less narrative sense?)

Oh, my goodness, definitely. It’s brilliant, especially because the whole eating disorder piece could have been tone deaf and wrecked the whole thing, but since they commit to going as darkly humorous as possible on it, it works and holds up.

Overall, a fine weekend, despite ending up very tired for a bit on Friday. I rolled credits on Yakuza 5 on Saturday and wrapped up the ultimate battles Sunday morning, so that’s completely done until a future sequential series playthrough. My wife and I made great progress on a jigsaw puzzle of Dale Chihuly glasswork,

Wait wait wait... this is a Kevin Pang article post 8 minutes ago. Is that you Kevin? Or was this a repost from an older article?  Are you back, or just visiting?

We don’t really know what another version of the universe would look like if the many worlds theory were true, but in the show through the Devs (Deus) machine we can. For example there’s the scene where Nick Offerman watches his wife and child die in a car crash. In the scene it shows us the many universes and how in

But all the Devs team was confronted with the same reality of determinism through devs, right? So what’s preventing them from acting on free will? Did they all just have blind faith to it because it seemed like they didn’t. At the very least it seemed like they would question things and test it out.

Yeah, nope, bullshit. If I was Lily, I would have straight away grabbed a gun, shot Forest’s “wife” and “daughter”, and then “myself”, and left Forest to live out the rest of his “life” in the simulation. Knowing that Forest will only sacrifice other people’s lives and not his own, he will suffer.

The show cops out by giving us their happy ending. I would have liked to have seen Deux literally branch out and give us any number of possible worlds or ‘ending’s’.

At least that way we would seen how the simulated versions of Lily and Forest were also (or simultaneously) trapped in various hells.

The show ended up

I don’t know if I’d give this finale an A, maybe more of an A- or B+. My big problem was that I just didn’t buy Stewart doing what he did. I do get that he thought Devs needed to be destroyed, but to murder an innocent along with Forest to do it felt like a big leap given what we know about him. I just couldn’t shake
