Look at Agustin's beard in the rugby scene. (I may have Zaprudered it.) It gives you a pretty good idea of when that scene takes place.

Does he really take responsibility, though? He tells Dom, the least likely to judge him, that he "has regrets" about how he handled the situation, not that he's sorry for being such a jerk to Richie. And he says nothing at all to Richie, the person he actually hurt, and the person who needs to hear about Patrick's

Let me state that I am 100% in Richie's corner. I formed an unnatural attatchment to him, and Raul Castillo, last season and it hasn't dissipated, yet.

I'm accepting the moments that Kevin acts out of character from last season as a build up to something worse later in the season. I refuse to believe they're retconning him because people love Russell Tovey or something else that I'm not going to speculate on until it shows up on screen.

I keep thinking about the scene between Richie and Patrick in the kitchen and just how it illuminates who both men are. Patrick's tap dancing as fast as his "cuteness" can, trying desperately to get Richie to admit that maybe there's still a chance, and dammit, if he can just find what level of cuteness Richie needs

I see that as stringing Patrick along. If it's summer, then John's away a lot. Baseball season is at least six months long, from the first Monday in April through the end of September/early October. Longer if the team makes the playoffs. Plus with pre-season games and spring training, John is probably only in town two

Yes it is. Or at least it is to someone like Kevin. When he introduced John to Patrick he made a point of saying he was the team physician for the Giants, that he gets to look at world champion athletes bodies all day, and it was a point of high pride for Kevin. John's the one who "humblebragged" that they were

Exactly, because being who they are, two upper middle class, educated men, they don't see where they fall on Kevin's spectrum where everyone is middle class and educated. They see themselves as his equal, he sees them as underlings.

Never take the Emmys seriously. They get into a groove on one show and no other show in that genre can usually break its stranglehold. They like the familiar. If it was good enough last year, it's still good enough.

Exactly. Kevin's always manipulated Patrick by giving him what he needed to stay on the hook. But without John present, and how convenient it's summer when John's likely traveling a lot with the team, we only hear Kevin's side of the story as told by Patrick so that's doubly gilding the lily.

Of course they will. And that's when things will get ugly for Patrick. Patrick's just too naive to see the train that's about to hit them.

John's the team physician with the San Francisco Giants, which means he's probably an orthopedist, so yes, a pretty impressive position. Certainly moreso than a level designer. John's the prime "catch" in this show if the goal is to climb the social ladder.

One of the things I thought about when Agustin accused Patrick of "slumming" was how that's kind of what Kevin's doing with Patrick. When placed side-by-side with the team physician for the Giants, Patrick's, well, kind of "low rent." He may not have a working class job but he's not exactly the type of guy Kevin would

When I saw the cute ginger I thought "Richie wasn't kidding when he said he had a thing for white boys."

I agree with point three. I think he is trying to get Richie and Patrick back together. He doesn't seem too keen on Patrick being Kevin's sidepiece.

Not really. Robbie Williams eventually had some success here, but that was a pretty heady time for American boy bands.

It was up against the Golden Globes. All the HBO premieres were down.

No. I think Agustin's just trying to fix whatever part he had in breaking them up. In a totally Agustin way, which means he'll probably screw it up worse.

Eh, he's one for three with me. And anyone can have flashes of humanity.

This isn't a PSA, it's a depiction of three gay friends in San Francisco and the people who come in and out of their lives. They're human and flawed. Patrick's major flaw is how he cultivates this babe in the woods persona so that he can continue to be coddled, whether it's Dom or Agustin or Kevin. Even Doris in her
