The best solution would be to set up a “throw away” CC number offered from some CC. Chances are, your subscription will expire eventually, and the company will be offering even better deal to get you back as a customer.

Yeah, that would work from a technical standpoint (or dump the data onto my NAS or shared folder on another PC), but it’s contractually prohibited by the NDA. From technical standpoint, all activities are logged, so it would be apparent if I move files onto a personal NAS. It will take a court order, but the company…
When was the last time you saw radio delete reach even 1% in the US? Even fleet cars like Crown Vic/Police Interceptor usually came with a AM/FM radio. With the programs I’m involved in, I typically see 100% radio install. Maybe things were different back in the 80s?
Wow, no wire harness? With most vehicles coming equipped with a radio, I would think it would be cheaper just to commonize the wire harness and throw in the radio harness for free. One less part number to design and control.
Is that like saying I write murder mysteries, so I should be able to murder people as part of my book research?
I disagree. I’ve never heard of people losing everything to a pawn; you can’t lose more than the item you pawn. On the other hand, payday loans can come after your paycheck, your car, your dog...
My work machine has restricted USB and cloud access. I can’t just pop in my own USB drive, or upload to a personal cloud account. I imagine most companies operate in this fashion now.
Because of this, it would be best to keep personal work on a personal machine. Using work resource for a personal work is probably a violation of policy anyway.
I think pawn shops are better than payday loans. At least with pawn shops, you don’t lose more than what’s being pawned; it in itself can’t spiral out of control. Plus, even those who are bad with money or numbers can readily understand the risk (worst risk is losing the item).
Is there any good reason for this type of loan to exist. It seems to target people who can’t qualify for a conventional loan, and can’t qualify for a credit card, probably because they don’t have sufficient means or history of repayment. Maybe I’m wrong, but what advantage for the consumer does this offer over other…
If you’re truly doing a good job (your actions contribute towards the company’s bottom line), and you’re not being recognized, then you need to move on. I recognize (raise, bonus, and/or promotion) true team players who contribute to the company. Selfish employees, even if they produce higher than average, are toxic…
You did catch the part where I said “half jokingly”, right?
I would probably not hire someone who asks that question. In most companies, there is not one successful person, instead success is mostly sum of many people’s contributions. This question screams _I_ want to be successful; that the candidate isn’t a team player.
I half jokingly answer those questions by saying, “If I’m playing on my phone all day, then you’re doing a good job.”
Not everything happens in the moment. Even if the coworker doesn’t feel uncomfortable at that moment, he/she can remember things differently (intentionally or otherwise) when he/she is terminated or receives a poor performance review. This doesn’t even have to be a boss/staff relationship; someone can accuse a random…
Ah, I didn’t think about student loan type of situation.

Does it make sense to pay down the debt AND contribute towards retirement at the same time? Doesn’t it make more sense to plow all that money back into eliminating the debt? About the only time this would make sense is matching 401k situation where the contribution results in “free” money.
You should only report your U.S. passport lost or stolen if the original, physical version of the passport book or passport card has been lost or stolen. [emphasis mine]
So, instead of paying for the (overpriced) airport coffee or tea, the Lifehack is to make these places give you free hot water? Doesn’t that seem a bit cheap and tacky? Would you take your own burger patty to an airport restaurant and make them grill it too?
