Don’t take out a loan for something if you can’t pay it back. You do not NEED a college education to be successful. People need to realize this. A degree is not worth going broke for.

Most loans should never be forgiven. If you can’t afford a 4 year college get a GI Bill, go to a 2 year or trade school. Everyone wants crap for free these days. Go work for a company with a tuition reimbursement plan. 

So I support limited debt forgiveness for public service (including medical careers where under served populations benefits), but otherwise why should your loans be forgiven based on income or ability to pay?

There is a great way to get your loans forgiven. Work hard and pay them yourself like an adult.

Does your degree get “forgiven” at the same time? All this movement to make university education free is horrifying to someone who went with trade school education instead to save myself the student loan debt at the cost of a lower wage.
