To be factually accurate....

And Dieselgate confirmed that indeed you were - there’s no free lunch, and the tens of thousands of years of human life (not making that up) lost to airway inflammation from the particulate emissions resulting from gamed emissions controls are a horrible price to pay.”

Had to go find the oppo archives... but here’s the first post about fixing mine up: http://jimisaherb.com/uploader/new/2019/3/1833067069.html

The V10 is a much older engine. It came out in 2003, it was in a concept car a couple years before that. Pumpe Duse fuel system, which was VW’s latest and greatest in 1999 in Europe.

Yep, this is exactly the job I had to do with my V10 Touareg when I got it a couple years ago.

Awesome! Always fun to see someone taking a vehicle not many would expect to see on trails and surprise people.

Now THAT’s a proper half-thought out adventure.

All around solid points. Actually quite surprising to hear that the UK still had leaded gas by Y2k and went through the same FUD campaign the U.S. did in the 1970s.

Run what the manufacturer recommends.

OK, so, let me help you clarify why this car is special.

That is pretty amazing. I mean, they’ve landed them before, they just blew up after the landing.

Ferndale, you say. Looks close to Bellingham. The previous owners of my Touareg, the parents of one of them lives there... and it sounds like they’re headed that way in a couple weeks as well... probably driving their Model 3 cross country... again.

Probably not the nicest time for me to bring up one of my defenses of VW’s cheating diesels: they won’t CO poison you... and that if given the choice of being trapped in a close garage with a vehicle’s engine running, gas vs. diesel, I would pick diesel every time.

The South loves their revisionist history books for sure...

Nah, the EPA making up nitpicky overly strict rules? That NEVER happens.

Even with some mild weight reduction, I still have my doubts with the heavy cast iron VR6 lump that it weighs less than 2000 lbs.

From what I understand, Tesla sold 10% of its BTC holdings. Something along the lines of “essentially to prove liquidity of Bitcoin as an alternative to holding cash on balance sheet.”

I agree on the part of seeing more emotions from drivers is not a bad thing. Hell, that’s part of the reason why I was a Montoya fan back in the day. That and he didn’t seem to care who you were. He’s there to race you as hard as possible, number of titles next to your name be damned.

A lot of people read into the banning of NEW vehicle sales of ICE-powered vehicles in a little too binary-like.

Sure. Also different eras—Fangio certainly seemed able to get more out of the skinny-tired 1950s cars no matter what team he wound up at. Cars also were much more fragile back then. Maybe a lot of the 1950s-70s champions also simply had a better feel for how to simply take care of the equipment so that it would last

Most racing drivers, especially ones who’ve had big success along the way to get to the top rung of motorsports, likely feel the same way... “If only I were in that car, I could be as good or better than the guy currently in it!”
