Definitely an odd outcome, but it actually IS reassuring that the dummy’s movements were well controlled and protected.
On the one hand, I’m glad to see anyone win a battle to open their doors back up with one caveat; I hope that Musk and anyone else who has opened up has implemented a decent protocol that should at the bare minimum include every person in the building wearing a mask at all times, except when on break, in which case…
Definitely stupid to do this when you’re a kid who has no clue about the limits of your car and in an unknown traffic situation. On one hand part of me enjoys seeing guys do speeds like that in cannonball record attempts, but most people doing that are generally older and more experienced with what a car does at its…
Great, detailed and reasoned response there, big guy.
Last paragraph really hit the nail on the head. I do appreciate and miss the people in Michigan, just not sure I could deal with the winter and the side effects it has on your car, especially being that is my vocation—to diagnose and repair cars.
I relocated from Michigan. A lot of years spent in or around Ann Arbor, which is a blue dot in the middle of a fair bit of red, that is until you go further East towards Detroit and its suburbs.
Kind of funny, I live in the Bay Area myself. I like a lot of it, aside from the expense. And before moving here I thought I’d enjoy living in an area that’s super progressive, only to find that it’s actually become it’s own microcosm of the left where dissenting opinions get shot down with no discussion or…
Counterpoint: the government business assistance is inadequate to cover the losses from the shut down. Business owners everywhere are in full panic mode, especially small business.
I generally like the W211s a fair bit. Not because of a particular affinity for the styling or even driving dynamics (which aren’t bad, but they also aren’t BMW or Audi good). But everytime I sat in a W211, I just kind of said “this feels right.”
They’re not supposed to... but do... Especially frequently with Fords for some reason.
Welcome.
Largely right. But what peak numbers aren’t telling you are the whole story. One of the primary reasons why a torque monster diesel engine is preferred (aside from the obvious efficiency—all about them $$) is because of the area under the curve.
Not really, no... horsepower is a calculation of torque and RPM...
Torque is actual twisting force. Horsepower is a calculation of how much torque at what RPM.
In a sense, horsepower is more abstract than torque. And peak numbers only tell you a tiny bit of the story. Having the entire dyno chart of the engine’s entire…
I’ve been called it before on various comment threads around the internet.
That’s pretty fucking lame.
So.... who snipped your balls and threw them away?
Well, I live in California these days, so to me that’s perfectly normal. They usually get up and go and dont hold anyone up, either. I’d be unhappy if they cut all those cars then proceeded to be slow compared to the rest of traffic, but that rarely happens.
Fucking serious? Have all of Jalopnik editors lost their balls? Does anyone else remember a time when illegal cannonball runs were organized by auto mag editors??
I can see the logic... unless it ends up being a severe case, which some young and in shape athletes have had... and it can leave permanent damage to your lungs, which is the last thing a paid athlete needs...
