Sadly, no longer surprised by such behaviour. Seen it too many times. I just kind of sit back in amazement at how much shit some women take and just let it roll off them.

I live in a studio. No driveway. Car is parked on the street in the hood. If I were to get an EV, an improvement in overall range and even faster fast charging would definitely be appreciated. Especially since I’ve been known to take long road trips, sometimes on a whim... 600 miles in a day sort of thing.

I’m kind of partial to the 280ZX. I rather like their look, though moreso the early versions (think about 1980).

It would be interesting to see FE do a longer distance race that does require some sort of recharging or battery swap instead of swapping cars. Incorporate the further development (and current shortcoming for electric cars vs. ICE) of fast charging and longer range batteries since that’s where a large amount of

COTD. Easily.

I never saw one of these in the wild until I moved to California.

Yep, I drive one every day in Bay Area traffic. With a manual. And it idles off the line just fine. No revving required. I don’t even have to touch the throttle until the clutch is fully engaged and I’m rolling at 5 mph. Easiest manual transmission vehicle to drive ever.

Performance wise, yes. Range-wise, not a chance. If you really want to get lost in the middle of nowhere, I wouldn’t be taking an electric car, that’s for sure. But a little diesel with 700 miles of range on a single tank and easy enough to find fuel? Sure!

Are you in California? I did have to add that qualifier at the end of my ramblings. $0.10/mile in California might be $0.06-7/mile in other states depending on the price difference. We’ve been butting up pretty close to $4/gallon here for some time, though recently it has relaxed some. still above $3, though.

Fuel prices in 2008: very high... until that September. Fuel prices stayed low through 2009 before really starting to ramp up again.

I think the sales had more to do with the fact that very little was selling because of the credit crunch. People simply could not get the financing so even though fuel prices were low

The previous rules more or less had target horsepower too, I just don’t think the author here is conveying the finer details very well on how they are going to accomplish power parity with the latest rules.

These rules, aside from the homologation part, aren’t all that different from what they already have.

I wouldn’t say these rules are stupid in the least bit. Now, while I agree that an enduro featuring electric cars would be interesting, it would also cover far fewer miles and be far slower than anything with an ICE engine over distance.

Yes, electric can make plenty of power, but what most people don’t realize is the

As technically a very earlier millennial (early 80s baby) I kind of get it too.

Yeah, the early models were definitely rushed, that’s the end result of going straight to production with a beta product instead of spending the usual amount of time smoothing out the “rough edges” like most automakers do. But, Tesla was a little desperate. They aren’t profitable like big automakers are yet, so

The Munro institute’s assessment of early Model 3s is pretty interesting. There are a lot of clever things that have the potential to make the Model 3's production costs a shade below $30,000, but it seems the biggest issue is the design of the unibody/body itself and the excess individual parts that need to be welded

Well, have to at least give the kid a little credit. He did win an F3 title, has qualified on the front row and finished on the podium in F1. You don’t do those things by being a terrible driver, that’s for sure.

I couldn’t call him a top flight driver, but he’s probably a better driver than the vast majority of the

Price isn’t bad, but it’s a stretch to call it a future collectible. They’re OK cars, but nothing special in the dynamics or looks department.

Wish I could like this post twice.

Indeed. I just dislike seeing how many people think Timo pulled over purposely to help Lewis rather than realizing he was merely trying to hold onto a near undrivable car on the wrong tires...
