I thought Funny Games (2007 version) was excellent, and I was pleasantly surprised to find that it was a remake that apparently hewed extremely closely to the original. So I'd say, by all means do a remake if you can tell the story in a fresh way, but at the same time don't try to fix what ain't broken.

That seems to be an unfortunate trend in a lot of TV shows: you start with a character that has a funny set of traits, whom everyone loves because he's used sparingly. Then he becomes more popular and the writers/producers think: we need more Chang! (Or whoever the crazy character is.) Give the audience more of what

Well, she did fuck Ted.

Andrea on TWD lasted *way* too long. It also adds insult to injury that comic book Andrea was so rad. I don't know why the writers thought we wanted to follow her misadventures for that long.

Omfg I love Peggy, but that's because I know tons of people like her. Also, she fundamentally loves Bobby and Luanne, so eh. ¿Escúchame?

I like Billy in his 'On the Street' series and he clearly has lots of great comedy ideas. But I agree, he never did mesh on P&R.

Oh my God yes, I find Gene to be completely unfunny and cringey. Also I think Linda has been mostly supportive to her family in the series (I like how she completely accepts her weird kids as they are). She's just had some incongruously bad episodes, like Christmas in the Car.

I really hate how they turned Kevin from being monotonous and slightly dense to borderline mentally handicapped, not even able to pronounce words properly. Everyone kind of became caricatures of themselves, which is a shame.

Just gonna throw my hat in the ring here and say that Colleen Ballinger (the creator of Miranda Sings) seems to be a really cool, down-to-earth gal. She also has a great voice when she does serious singing. Certainly among the Youtubers she seems to be one of the nicer, less abrasive ones.

The OJ reference went over my head the first time I watched it because I'm young and also not American (so it wasn't part of my 'cultural iconography' or whatever), but I still enjoyed the lawyer characters. I thought it was cute how incompetent but loving they were. Hardly the weakest joke in the series. Also I love

My (prob'ly unpopular) view on Morality Morgan is that people shouldn't necessarily be rooting for him at all (actually I was kind of surprised he was such a fan favorite, coming from the comics, but I guess that's a tribute to Lennie James being excellent and the writers being mediocre).

It's kind of to the point where I'm wishing for a genuine off-screen death to happen on any show I watch, because the plot device has gotten so predictable.

Yes, so much this. Maybe the actress didn't deliver a Meryl Streep level performance but she hit all the right notes, consistently, for her character. And then gets called 'one-note'! Can't win I guess.

Uhh, I don't think years of implied abuse by her violent dad counts as 'no reason what so ever.' Anyway, I buy that that's what acting out like an irrational teen looks like when your family happens to be a criminal drug syndicate.

I think the point is that most people thought he wasn't dead, which makes it even worse, because they knew immediately that the writers were pulling a cheap stunt to appeal to the lowest common denominator of their audience.

1. Wow, this thread is full of, "I can't believe the writers jerked me around like that! Do they think I'm stupid? What an insult to my intelligence! Anyway, I'm gonna keep watching the show, but I'll have a grumpy face on and make no mistake."

The way diabetes girl got killed was so farcical that I burst out laughing. Which is probably not what the writers were going for.

I always thought his TV debut was kind of weird. He introduces himself to the world via a brilliant, insightful standup show, together with lots of good SNL writing credits that you think would demonstrate his ability to write fresh humor. And then he makes Mulaney, which is ironically so formulaic and dull that if

Maybe it's just me because no one else in the comments has mentioned it, but I felt the little shoving match between Korl and the weird boy was really awkward.

Ok, I find that morbidly hilarious. Just a pyramid of guts with Glenn's cut-out face carefully perched on top. The zombies are evolving!
