I feel like that at this point, after so many Spider-Man reboots in theaters in a single generation, it'd be perfectly ok if Spidey just swings into the Marvel movie scene with little to no preamble. We all know who the character is and how he got like he is. He can just be there and do his web thing.

I don't see how you can draw that specific conclusion. EVERY nuclear detonation is different and a tactical nuke is the smallest, designed to be possibly survived on the battlefield - albeit, the other side of the battlefield of course.
