I think they’re counting the pilot as two episodes. That would still make this episode 3 rather than 2, though...

That’s what the developer of Pinstripe did: a bunch of YouTubers did VA for the game, but they were characters in that world rather than appearing as themselves. I couldn’t even tell until after the fact.
The Elder Gods aren’t who you need to be worrying about, though - sacrifice the wrong person and you’ll piss off their families to the point of rebellion.
So which Final Fantasy are they ripping... er, “paying homage to” this time?
Not unlike smothering a forest fire with napalm, I suppose.
Given that Liz Allen turned out to be Liz Toomes, I wouldn’t put too much stock in expecting direct parallels. There isn’t going to be a Mary Jane Watson in this universe - that role will be played by Michelle Jones.
What world do you live in where “a bit sad... but really pleased” translates to complaining?
Considering this is an industry where people downvote a game on Steam if a trans person shows up for thirty seconds, I’d say she can set whatever arbitrary standards she wants. Everybody else does anyway.
I think you might be missing the point on several fronts. First of all, “hardcore” fans of the series would know that the male romance with Kaidan in ME3 shows more than anything you can get for Scott in Andromeda, meaning it’s a step back any way you slice it.
I think the reason they’re being conflated is because they both exhibited the same mental block of “Oh, I’m not racist, I just make racist jokes or have racist beliefs”. And they both acted like they were the ones being victimized by the backlash that they brought on themselves.
Good thing I don’t need your permission, then.
I mean... how many times has a lousy ending soured people’s opinions on a game? Was the center of the galaxy not treated as a final insult in No Man’s Sky? Has everyone forgiven BiowEAr for Inquisition and Mass Effect 3? Not sure why this should be an exception, especially if Blizzard weren’t confident enough in its…
It wasn’t “hidden away from the public eye” - Blizzard chose not to release it because it didn’t meet their standards of quality. You’d think fans of the company would respect that evaluation rather than act like something was denied them.
But... if it was cancelled in development, wouldn’t that mean the game’s unfinished? Why bother?
That’s fine. My 2017 dance card’s full enough as is.
Made it all the way through Dragon Age Inquisition and the Trespasser DLC before realizing I didn’t care - at all - about my character or the story. The companions were the only bright spot in a 100-hour slog that I’ll never, ever replay.
That would be a more convincing argument if Crono, Marle, Lenne and Robo weren’t part of the game, though; or if Schala didn’t play such a significant role. The developers chose to include those characters, and they didn’t have to. So it’s a bit much to say they’re only “vaguely-related”.
