Yes, exactly that much

Yay! I got it! (I wasn’t sure I had the moral right)

It seems to be a mediation on the changing roles of men and women. Both men and women need to evolve to fit into the new roles and break out of the old ones.

His essay is a little confusing, but I think he was calling BS on gender norms.

I never understood it but Luke and Laura (a supercouple from a soap my mom used to watch — General Hospital) started with a rape back in the late 1970s.

Thank you!

I think this might apply to experiencing “awwwwww....” as well (small animals cause the happy hormones to flow). I see puppies in a window and suddenly I’m holding doors (even if I have to wait what feels WAY too long in NYC) and giving cigarettes away (which I usually jealously guard — they are insanely expensive

This a million times!!!

I admire your commitment :-)

I’m not sure how to respond. This is obviously a more blatant form of exploitation (of the poor), even making a joke of it (they’re so poor they’ll do ANYTHING for a little extra). But TV producers have basically been doing the same thing (Fear Factor and and other reality shows) for a long time.

ha that would be cool! (if they were intimidated by her awesomeness)

I may be wrong, but I didn’t necessarily think he was escorted out. I think the door is the other way, nearer to where the victim was initially standing. Also, the people helping him up didn’t look angry or at all upset with him. They seemed friendly and worried. That’s just the impression I got.

This made me smile so hard :-)

Unfortunately, these things are only hot if you have previously determined that the man is hot or potentially hot...

:-(

This made me laugh.

I wish statutes of limitations for sex-based crimes were longer. Three years seems way too short a period.

I wish more people (particularly in positions of power) knew just how horrible rape is. Maybe people in positions of power should be required to attend an event where survivors talk about rape (assuming the survivors were willing — I know talking about this is insanely difficult)
