Thanks for underlining how ridiculous a practice (practice might be too heavy a word...a *thing* some people do) this is...while also pointing out that something is broken in society because it's a *thing* (why are people still so segregated...there are reasons, but none of them are good).

I wish people would stop fetishizing this guy. He may be monstrous, but he's not as rare as people's comments seem to imply. 1 in 6 women are raped...he's not the one raping everyone (despite the fact that a lot of rapists are serials). TONS of people buy into this idea that men are entitled to women's bodies...and

We need nationwide affirmative consent. Plain and simple.

omg! so netflix has one of her specials (Madigan Again)...I'm 23 minutes in laughing my butt off! Thanks again for the rec :-) :-) :-)

I can't believe I'm actually going to respond to this (and under my regular username)...

You make a good point. She did say, "I'd report you of course" ... which sort of "normalizes" the idea of women reporting date rape ... saying that it's a normal thing women do.

I really like Louis CK (although I know WAY too much about his children's poo, his butt sweat, and his masturbation habits).

Thanks for the rec! I'll check her out :-)

So...I've been watching stand-up on Netflix lately. I like to laugh, so I thought this was a good idea. I keep watching female comedy shows (e.g., Iliza Schlesinger, Women Who Kill, and Chelsea Peretti) and ... I just keep being so disappointed. For example, there are some cool things about Iliza Schlesinger (she's

I can't believe the little girl is climbing all over the cow ... no fear at all :-)

You are a good boyfriend, Mark :-)

The 'reason' given for the attack is ridiculous, but violent, abusive people don't need reasons. Everything, anything is a reason for such a person.

It is. See my other comment.

I actually was commenting on that trend. Rape always has been used as a weapon of war and to punish. You are absolutely right. RAPE has. Not sex. I was implying that that connection made it more likely she knew she was raping him.

How? My understanding was he sat there.

I don't think he expected her to kill him, despite the weapons. HIV can kill even with all the progress science has made with regard to treatment.

I don't think you understand the meaning of "affirmative." It means saying you can do *this* and here *this* is not an umbrella term like *whatever* ... it's not about not saying no.. It's about saying yes to a specific act.

She used him like a dildo (however the sex happened, he was not participating — and I believe sex doesn't fall under general consent). Exhibitions like that demonstrate how not-decent people truly are.

You have a right to your opinion.

We're going to have to agree to disagree.
