@Ipomoea: I think you're on to something. I think art is intimidating to some people because, unlike taking English classes all of our childhoods to understand moderately complicated literature, the same didn't happen for art, at least for most people.

@ArtBitch: Is it bad I love the guy's titles as much as I love some of the pieces? Also, fun fact: "For the Love of God" came from Hirst's mother asking "For the love of God, what will you do next?!"

@Ipomoea: Well, modern and contemporary art are different animals (and periods). If someone can't wrap their head around modern art from the mid-1800's to the 1970s-ish, then they're really already behind.

I'll just leave this absurdist gif right here...

@small-fox: Damien Hirst is hardly difficult to process. He's art appreciation/history 101 material, one of top living artists. The world would be a terribly boring place is Thomas Kinkade was everyone's art de jour. *shudder*

@intelly: Yeah, BFA in painting and graphic design here. I barely bother reading any post with "Graphic design", "Logo", or especially "photoshop disaster" anymore.

Seriously, ANY posts on art or design on Jezebel make my head hurt.

Living together killed my last relationship. He was an extremely messy person, and while I can be messy, my social anxiety makes sure no one else sees because I going into a cleaning frenzy. We ended up with me being much neater than I normally am (and it was HARD), while he continued to do what he always did.

For those interested, there's a live feed on CNN of the president on the matter.

@Modelesque24: I don't even know where to start with this. :/

@Me.: Yeah, the photoshopping is pretty clear on a lot of them. This is coming from a person that has been retouching all day.

Nothing like tilting your head forward or taking the picture from above to make your forehead/eyes larger while at the same time making your nose/mouth smaller.

@la.donna.pietra: The last play session in Toy Story 3 also had me about to cry. It's ridiculous how good Pixar is at tugging heartstrings.

@regann: I'm a graphic designer, and examples like this article are why I'll never work in-house.

Revenge of the rigid styleguide!

@SteggysaurusRex: I don't think the word should change, but I don't think that should be one of the only books talked about in the first place. I think the book is much more interesting to learn about Twain in a college course than really a good account of that period in history.

@Sister Toldja: This is nothing like the Gap logo fiasco, or even the Tropicana blowup. Both those brands threw away their brand equity, and Starbucks severely working -into- their brand equity.
