@Penny: Oh God, I think we need a thread of "Things our Grandparents have said that have horrified us"

@maude_flanders: Also, to add, the first day of the school year is seen as sort of a celebrated/synchronized holiday in some Eastern European countries.

When I found out that the yellow ranger died a pretty bad death, it sort of killed a bit of my childhood.

@JadedVenus: It's a Fellini reference, the term.

@andromedeia: Well, with my regular shoes I'm almost 5'10", and with heels... forget it. There's a surprising number of guys that are barely 5'9".

@andromedeia: I have to admit, when I see a woman that's over 6', I get a little dumbfounded for a moment. And I mean, I'm 5'9".

@Guenhwyvar: Some of the snark probably came from much worse comments I've been seeing on these articles. I barely skim them anymore.

@intangiblemango: I know that its origin population from which the measurements were taken was a specific European country. Denmark, Holland? Somewhere like that. So basically, no diversity whatsoever, especially at that time.

@Guenhwyvar: Do I think this is a good 'shop job? Of course not. However, do you think a designer with truly good retouching skills (because, of course, the magazine will want "a little of this photo, a little of this one") would work at Good Housekeeping?

@light-itself: I totally know the feeling. It can be done properly, if you aren't totally out of your mind in a panic. I totally diagnosed my PMLE (Sun UV allergy). The doctor was surprised, to say the least.

@ms. noblet: Try being a graphic designer during the "OMG PHOTOSHOP NERDS" posts. :)

Can anyone shed any light on bone density for me? I've heard that differences between let's say a woman of African descent, and Asian descent, who otherwise have the exact same height/proportions, can have different weights by a surprising percentage.

Hmm, I have a feeling I'm going to get hated on for this.

@kowalski: Honestly, I'm not for taking it down. You saw the title, there was a description, you watched anyway.

Remember, NEDM, people.

@NewsBunny: Sorry to burst your bubble:

@ellmar: Yes, they are. Also, he's a really nice guy. It was a really big deal around the Chicago art scene when he got the editorial.

I know this is about models, but it's fucking awesome that the fashion chair of my alma mater did those "monster suits" featured here.
