Hate to say it cause the owner is a political douche, but if you live anywhere other than Southern California, WeatherTech mats are the best thing you can buy for your car once you get it home from the dealership.

Wheels and tires, 100% of the time. Whether for performance or aesthetics, it’s always the biggest improvement.
No chance? He works for the city. There’s probably a picture of the councilmember in their building, and I’m guessing they get updates on council decisions on the regular. With photos. I’d say there’s a better than even chance that once the councilmember triggered his memory by asking him if he knew who he was, he…
Wow, the rare instance of “Do you know who I am?” being used to a positive effect!
Why stop there? The police should seize it as civil forfeiture on the spot, as no one was there to claim it.
Was waiting for one of them to rip a LIDAR sensor off the roof and kneel on its cord while the other officers looked on.
If that is a law, it’s the typical case of laws not keeping up with the times. The vehicle wasn’t unattended, because its driver was there. The driver just happens to not be human.
Driving at night without lights on, wow, they really are getting as good as the average human driver.
Lucky color choice by Cruise or it would have been shot up in “self defense” when it pulled away.
Yes, they slide out. Just note the orientation of the old pads and put the new ones in the same way.
THIS! This is what we should see more of here. Thanks!
Rear discs are usually more of a PITA then fronts since you have to deal with some sort of parking brake mechanism, either a drum-in-hat or integrated into the caliper. The integrated ones require tools to screw the piston in, since a C-Clamp will not push the piston back in.
i made the unfortunate decision to change the drum shoes in one old car i owned (mazda). lots of swearing and half a day later, it was completed.
Chrrrrissst I remember changing the pads in my drum brakes in my first car. This was in 1999. What a monster pain in the ass.
I think I'd have some trouble finding a car with drum brakes (for non-parking brakes) unless I was intentionally looking for something old.
Thank you for including information about seasoning the rotors and properly bedding the pads. I can't tell you how many people I know that either just don't know about that, or just don't care. This should be done, even on a brand new car, fresh from the dealer! It strengthens the iron in the rotors, and creates a…
Specifically what Smalley's referring to is that a lot of 4-wheel disc brake cars have drums in the rear for the parking brake. This generally isn't problematic however since your parking brake pads shouldn't really ever wear down - it just means that your rotors will be slightly more expensive when it comes time to…
It's amazing how simple disc brakes are, especially compared to drums. When car shopping this year a requirement was discs all around.
