I believe it was the same for Nissan too, they had said they always wondered how VW was passing our emissions, figured it was some sort of fairy dust from underneath the Nurburgring accessible to Germans only, and gave up. Or is it that the Japanese are really just smarter than us all? lol

This is true, they are... but we have an s/c car, it’s called the hellcat. Plus, why not moar top end? Hellcats already have no problem leaving smoke trails everywhere they go, they don’t need more low end power, it’s a 6.2L V8, plenty of low end torque.

How’s this then, please be twincharged, please be twincharged,

please tell me it’s TT, please tell me it’s TT, please tell me it’s TT, please tell me it’s TT........

I might actually stay away from online articles about it, just so my first sight of it is in person at the NYIAS, lol. Make it that much better of a reveal.

Yeahhh... comparing Rob’s situation to anyone else’s situation isn’t exactly apples to apples. He is a wealthy, supercar owner with many connections in the car industry here in NJ. Granted he does live up north (in Bergen County, a wealthy, expensive county to live in), but he has plenty of money in the bank. As

I’m with you. Though here in NJ after 25 years the car can be registered as Classic for cheaper reg and ins. Therefore, I would own only cars that qualify for that, you know, cars with sticks between me and the passenger :D

Also, I’ve learned to tell myself, it’s not worth chasing them down, wasting the gas (money). And just remember, we weren’t put on this earth to move along at 40, 50, 70, 900mph, so any of those numbers can quickly become your insides spread across the grass/median/pavement... and that doesn’t sound like fun.

Sounds like you live here in NJ! These kinds of things happen on the daily... then there’s the “Jersey Shuffle” as we call it. When a driver just HAS to get in the left lane to pass you, going 85+ mph, on a highway just so they can cut you or someone else off by cutting across 2-3 lanes of moving traffic to catch

I agree, don’t go too cheap (on quality - which usually matches price), however, being new to the wheel game, what ARE quality brands that should be trusted? What are some more affordable brands that can also be trusted?

Then the rest I can stay away from.

Just to fu*k with him, VW should buy the car back, then build it into a race car, showing pics of when it was dropped off, to the finished product. They can even caption that photo with “Thanks to our wonderful customer Mr. Mayer in Cincinnati, half of the work was already done! We just had to build the drivetrain,

In case no one mentioned it, the Toyota Tacoma X-Runner is naturally aspirated, NOT supercharged from the factory. TRD does make a blower for it, as does URD (Underdog Racing Development). My dad had an ‘05 X-Runner in blue, when the frame recall happened, they offered to swap his frame, but instead they had a 2010

yyyeeeessss, I use this phrase probably more than I should, I can’t believe I’ve never googled it. Thank you for doing the leg work, I’m now going to be putting this link in my clipboard FOREVER. CTRL+V EVERYWHERE

COTD for me, thank you sir, you summed up exactly what I wanted to say in a simple GIF.

I was at a car meet a long time ago at a local middle school, the cops were there (and cool) just hanging out. I remember one of the guys talking about how fast his car was, and the cops response has always stuck with me. “You may be able to outrun my crown vic, but you’ll never out run my Motorola”

This I can confirm, being a resident of NJ...

My question though, is how can I stream it in 4K? My Firestick maxes out at 1080p, my PS3 maxes out at 1080p, I don’t have cable service (which in my area the cable boxes I believe cap out a 1080p anyway). My TV is a Samsung UN50JU7100, 50" 4K LED... no HDR, but I got it for an awesome price, so I don’t mind.

You deserve ALL of the stars and COTD. Also, where are we doing this because I’m ready to leave NJ anyway and this neighborhood just sounds like the place I want to set down some roots, and I know a few who would join me.

Ahhh yes, the car guys of the school, we had pretty much one of every type where I grew up!

We had the one guy who’s parents had an unlimited bank account, who had a “stage III” Regal GSX (his brother owned the local SLP Performance, mind you)

My one friend had the 5.slow convertible Mustang GT (automatic) that he

They actually banned clown costumes during Halloween this year here in NJ. Thank goodness, because I know here, people will probably attack anyone dressed as one due to this creepy clown thing going on.

My wife has coulrophobia and freezes, shakes and has panic attacks when she sees clowns, so I know my 1911 is ready

That is very stealthy, but since NJ has deployed so many Explorer’s, already with the stealth/no livery, and stealthy LED’s (no light bars, no push bars, etc.), I already avoid most new body style Explorer’s as it is. Also, I ALWAYS check the front grille for LED’s, the side mirror’s for LED’s and look for spotlights
