The reference to the "car bomb" wasn't funny last year, and it sure as hell isn't funny this year either. I love Jalopnik, but I'm stunned at the poor taste of this post.
@Jim-Bob- Rockin' a Trabant 601 in 1:24 scale: I hate myself for the fact that I would actually quite like one of those...
Since it isn't 25+ years old, how did it get into the country as a private import?
This impresses me as much as putting castors on a bathtub and claiming Packard is back.
@Age of Aerostar: I still don't understand why we got the blobby New Beetle instead of that.
@Jim-Bob- Rockin' a Trabant 601 in 1:24 scale: Thanks for that info. I always did kinds like the look of the b13 - they're still going strong in Mexico, as far as I know.

Well, I suppose it could have been Topaz.
@gman1023: Absolutely. If I had the money, I would have the most boring car collection in the country; and I'd love it.
@optional flavor: I don't want to creep you out, but I think we're kindred spirits. Nothing is better than nicely kept, really boring car.

@Buckus: Good point. I knew there had to be a flaw in my thinking somewhere.
When I first heard this I expected that the news would bring West Los Angeles to a grinding (if not fiery) halt; but then I remembered a lot of California Prius drivers have an SUV as a second car, so I knew everything would be okay after all.
@AustinMiniMan: Pretty much my thoughts exactly. Excellent vision, great colour, practical - to dislike it is just wrong.
