There was enough actual Republican ratfucking in all 3 of those states to justify additional scrutiny. What really sucks is that Michigan and Wisconsin have Republican governors, secretaries of state, and majority legislatures doing everything in their power to obstruct an honest examination.

Those states were picked because of close margins and statistical anomalies and their potential to swing the election, which supports my take. Jill doesn’t care about her 1.0%, 1.1% and .8% getting recounted. Hillary stands to benefit much more, potentially.

Personally, I believe in the statistical conformity of large samples — that the actual vote was in fact way more consistent with the pre-election polling. I think Trump’s pre-emptive whining was just another page from the playbook: first cry about a non-existent illegality, then commit the illegality yourself, and when the other side complains it just looks like tit-for-tat partisan bitching. That’s why Hillary couldn’t call for a recount.
