This is all well and good, but I would like the info to also tell me how many times those 3 pages are able to load in each scenario? If IE8 lasted a long time but you spent all of that time loading pages, then you really didn't gain anything.

@xoted: Good approach. The one I got happened to have XP which I wanted, but loading an OS wouldn't be a big deal. Look for the LH post yesterday about putting your windows install onto a USB stick.

I gotta say that I really take issue with all of these extra BS processes slowing a system down. People say "Oh, they're just LITTLE apps!" but I can't begin to tell you how many "tweaked" systems clients have brought to me running like shit.
