My cat is indoors-only, and has never wanted to go out. Why? I suspect it’s because she was semi-feral the first few years of her life, and she knows how much better she has it being a spoiled house cat.

My vet says the idea that dry food keeps a cat’s teeth clean is like saying Oreos help keep a person’s teeth clean.  He also said that there’s nothing wrong with a good-quality dry food.

The attacks mentioned in the article seem pretty random to me. As for Lee’s killer, apparently he attacked a middle-aged white guy a few weeks/months ago. It was with fists and not a knife, so he got a desk ticket and walked away.

Yeah, I think the article mentioned by the OP had a link to the one you’re talking about.  Obviously new ownership is milking these sites for all their worth, and if all that’s left is a hollowed out corpse, so be it.

I’m sure that’s part of it. At the same time, until a few years ago these sites were still doing fairly well in terms of readership and writer retention. 

I don’t think that’s really the point here, though. This couple gets mocked because he’s “too short” for her, not because she’s “too tall”.

I too thought that SNS would be the easiest piece to write. Maybe Spanfeller & co. feel the same way and don’t want to pay for it? I know they want unique eyeballs, and maybe they figure SNS does no good there, and that $50 can go into their pockets instead.

Jezebel is next? Are you saying it hasn’t been gutted? I think all the current writers are recent additions, who post almost nothing at night and on weekends, and they seem to have stopped doing SNS (which probably has  been around longer than the cumulative tenure of their writers).
