Why is there this bizzare tendency to try to overthink things in every case like this. Its an action game featuring a hypersexualised female protagonist that constantly spouts stereotypical “this is how women talk right?” stuff every five seconds. There’s no deeper meaning, there’s no reclaiming shit. If you like the

Still a criminally underrated game taken way, way, way too seriously by many people for too long. Referring to the whole upskirt achievement as a “horror story” is kinda emblematic of it - sure it’s pervy but the way it’s handled is actually like, kinda good? You get an achievement, but the game/Juliet chide you for

Every time I hear about this game, it just makes me think “You know what was a great game everyone slept on? Stubbs The Zombie.”

when you’re character is tiny

Just realism! My wife is about a head smaller than me. We usually kiss on the stairs.

I can’t believe International Football has, just now, for the first time, become POLITICAL.

Or, they can, you know, lower their graphic settings and not having to use any frame expansion tech.

B550 mobo, Ryzen 5 3600, Seasonic 650W psu, 16 GB 3200 ram, 1TB SSD + 2TB HDD, (RX 570 8GB when I built it; now an RX6650xt), free Win10. Re-used the case from my 2011 build (built this one in 2020).

That would require Sony and Microsoft to use Nvidia GPUs instead of AMD GPUs. Given how both Sony and Microsoft have been burned by Nvidia in the past, and Nvidia’s current jerk behavior, I doubt that will happen.

That’s why it’s important to make sure the character writing is solid, too. We can’t be lazy just because we’re trying to have representation.

I agree. I don’t think all games need to have character creators or dual protagonists. It’s okay to focus on a predefined protagonist. It does mean that some segment of the population might feel excluded. Just as there are people who can’t identify with a white male protagonist, there are people who can’t identify

I’d like to present an opposing stance - imho just like you can’t choose protagonist in the movie or a novel, you don’t always have to be able to make a choice. If narrative demands certain archetype of character, it should have that character, forcing player to choose their avatar would hurt the game in the end - far

They gotta write about something. They didnt link because its just gonna be 30 weebs on the internet giving a damn.

This is why I won’t be playing anytime soon. I’m buying and playing the game to get the cool looking armor. I’m not paying a 70-dollar fee to then buy a 20-dollar skin, thanks.

I’ll check this out down the road when the game is on sale for Black Friday at 20 or 30 bucks. I fucking hate battle/season passes and cosmetic

Worked on a game many years ago that had very long levels. If you died, you were put back to the start of the level. This was a terrible experience and we knew it, which is why we added a save anywhere feature. But with the deadline to go gold looming, save anywhere was bugged and our engineers asked for three more

Not to mention the fact that an overwhelming number of people in the tabletop role playing fandom either has the knowledge themselves or directly knows a guy who can "acquire" a searchable PDF version for absolutely no cost.

for a new single player phantasy star, sure. otherwise, case by case at best. if anything, with games being so long, and having so many side activities, unless you get fomo’d you can spend a lot less just by playing the games fully. many rpgs these days have literally months of content, and if you are an adult with a

With this, MechWarrior 5, Armored Core VI and the BattleTech: Mercenaries kickstarter making over $7.5 million, I feel like mecha fans are starting to get some love. Now if we can get some big-budget mecha streaming series or movie.

That’s kind of the problem - the $60 isn’t more than enough. That’s why so many games need to sell additional content. It’s not always about nickel-and-diming customers, sometimes it is the only way for a game to actually be profitable.

Except in capitalism, that’s not how any of this works. All products are sold with lies, it’s just that when a business sells a good they depend on repeat business for the same good, so they have an intrinsic motivation to hit a baseline of quality, in the range of their price point.
