My community college English teacher was an Enver Hoxha guy. Of all the people in the world to have a poster of, he chose him.

I live in the silicon valley and married a Chinese wife. Her dad was the child of a second wife, which meant something different in China back then. I went in too many directions here, but my somewhat point is, there is a serious loss of face here, which is why the panic from the mom.
To really bother him, you could call him the best rock critic ever, which is true, but even he saw that that bar was about the height of a matchbox.
Thats kind of what I was trying to say, the pose hid a lot of love and respect, and agreed there was a lot of frustration there. Berlin is probably my favorite album by him. The Children is a bit too much to take. That's probably the album where Reed had the most heart, especially the title song. I think my ennui with…
Doesn't the NHS work like this? There is the basic coverage, but employers or individuals can get a Cadillac plan if they wish?
My wife wanted to see that Adam Sandler movie where his wife died of cancer and he takes Drew Barrymore to South Africa. Of all the annoying things about that movie, the Flomax plug was the one that bugged me most.
I agree with David. The best description I've heard is from Lester Bangs, who had such a hateful relationship with Lou Reed that it can only be described as love. Lou was always called a "poet of the streets" but when you grew up on the streets, that's not really a great compliment - a lot of mentally ill, drug…

"wait until they get a load of me!"
What do you make of this?
That was a cool story!

On the Waterfront, Again
East Asia is in a different time zone.
Kind of like the whole Matrix franchise, the shot seemed to say "This means something." Like the movie, it was so ponderous and heavy-handed, and they were just doing it because they could, not to move the plot along or make a point. Putting that stupid shot in Shrek showed how lame it was.
College ball is fun. My team, the SJSU Spartans, are something like 150th out of 180 teams in Division 1, so you can get a ticket for like 15 bucks and get a decent seat. Watching them play another team with no defense, like Hawaii, can be fun. I used to head up to Stanford to see them get creamed by the Cardinal and…
O death, where is thy sting?
Natural-ly (sorry about that)
Universal Studios had the red Sea parting effect for many years. That, the flash flood, and the rock fall were pretty awesome for 10-year old me.
I loved that Matrix schtick when this first came out. That camera shot was so ripe for parody.
