I went through customs after a trip to China a few days ago. Seemed the same, if even more SNAFU than usual. I should have brought over that Lao Chang sausage, because nobody seemed to care. It felt like a business where everyone hates the boss and is doing the bare minimum.

Surprised this wasn't mentioned yet, but Pho is a phonetic pronunciation of the French word feu, which means fire. So I have heard anyway. The words sound extremely similar.

Know I'm late here, but I live in Milpitas now, and there is a place Pho Nguyen on Calaveras, near 880, that is good. The woman who cuts my hair (Jessica, in the same mall, recommended) says the Bun Bo Hue there is also very good. Stay away from Yo-Pho across the street.
