Why did you bet on the Generals?
That last part is a good argument, but then the argument could also be made that a video game, unlike a book (or even a comic book), is terrible platform to base a movie on.
There was Charile Rich at the CMA awards in the '70s, where he read the name, lit the paper on fire, and then said "my friend, John Denver". Which was correct, but he said pretty much what he wanted to say there.
My favorite was TSOL. "You know what that spells backwards? LOST." - my mom, about 1982
Thus, the rise of Phish.
My mom, who is a fundamentalist Christian, swore that KISS stood for "Knights in Satan's Service". I kind of miss the batshit anti-rock-and-rollers, like playing "another one bites the dust" backwards and apparently hearing "start to smoke marijuana".
Spaceships would definitely be involved.
He can't stand all the wheezing they do.
They are going for $200 on ebay now. I think a book company should market and sell these. I have a friend of who would love this for Christmas, but I have no $200 friends.
I had to watch Fox News the night of the latest mass shooting in the IE (San Bernardino and Redlands) because I still have good friends down there who work with special-needs kids and I wanted to know what was going on there, and Fox News is the only news station I can get with basic. The San Jose Mercury News has a "best of police blotter" every year around this time. It's probably juvenile and schadenfreude-ish, but they still make me crack up. Here's the one from 2014: http://www.mercurynews.com/… An example: Burlingame, June 21. A man reported being followed by his wife.

Glad to be proven wrong here!
Whenever I think of this show, I think of studio apartments in suburban towns, CRT TVs, getting high, and drinking a lot. Please tell me I'm wrong, but 100% of the people I know who liked MST3K were men. It's like the Rush of TV shows.
John Fahey's The New Possibility is an amazing record. He makes these songs sound so powerful and scary with nothing but an acoustic guitar.
You might enjoy this, my favorite IMDB user review of all time, for a movie called Dondi:
Weird to comment on something three years old, but it's exactly the same I feel about Oakland. I only live 40 miles away now, in the East Bay suburbs, but I think about my time in the lovely Laurel more than any other place I've ever lived. Of course, that city will reach in through your chest cavity and rip your…
