Not just mid-aughts - far before and definitely still happening.

That’s pretty much the definition of frat-boy culture. I know, they’ve been my neighbors.

30-60 is big in an FPS, even for 40+ year old eyes like mine. But for most other games, not a problem. And certainly playable regardless - I played Destiny at 30FPS for years, but now going back from 60 is really hard to adjust to - it only hurts my gameplay in PvP though. The bigger issue for playability is having a

I mean this is great, but the other big caveat is that the device is a year away from getting into most people’s hands. The lucky few who didn’t get bonked by a broken checkout get it in December, a handful in Q1 next year, and everyone else is Q2 or later - to place their orders (Valve specifically worded it that way

I can’t express how happy I am for this. Now that I’ll be able to play on my Switch with my xbox account, or on PC/GeforceNow. I expect to get back into warframe on the regular now rather than just once or twice a year. Warframe is a perfect game for bite-sized grinding between work or traveling but having all my gear

I did the same but it took me an hour and 20 minutes before my payment would go through, after a period of time with the store acting like I’d been making multiple purchases. A lot of others had similar experiences. I can understand load issues, but it’s really bogus to get bumped in the queue because their payment

Honestly I assumed this when it was announced. Proton is impressive on paper but there will always be limits to running Windows games on Linux. And Destiny 2 likely would have been featured if it was working, all things considered. But confirming that it would run Windows was enough to at least make the device

Or - probably more importantly to most people looking at this device - if you install Windows you can download and play GamePass games available through Game Pass Ultimate/PC directly on the unit (including Halo, Gears, Flight Simulator, Forza, etc).

It’s a nice concept but game streaming of any type isn’t reliable when traveling. You just can’t trust that you’ll have good enough quality internet unless you are going somewhere you already know well and have tested before.

It doesn’t always make sense to the individual. I’ve traveled with an Xbox for years and key reasons why are because a) xbox is my main platform because most of my friends play on xbox and b) a gaming laptop is too large and heavy for my day to day work (or, when I’m traveling I may have my office laptop).

That’s not exactly outrageous for what it is, but the issue comes when you consider it’s almost the price of the console itself.

I didn’t have a Wii U but I ended up having a similarly interesting experience after messing up my back when I learned that you can pipe any HDMI input into the PSVR and it will display like a TV screen (it follows your position for a few seconds then locks in virtual space so it doesn’t get nauseating). Worked pretty

Exactly, there are development costs for netflix, especially for something like nintendo devices, that don’t sit on top of a common platform (like most TVs and even Xbox) that is easier to port to. If there aren’t enough viewers then there is no point in making the app.

But odds are more folks than you might hope still used their Nintendo devices for Netflix

Last sentence made me lol. One of my favorite slice-of-life moments in Osaka was walking by a construction site early in the morning and seeing the crew doing the classic radio calisthenics.

I mean it’s glamorized regardless but yeah, I was there in 2014 and all the news on the closures this past couple years is really depressing - especially since I only got a few hours in Akiba and had hoped to go back someday (I was in Osaka walking distance from Dotonbori for a week so I spent a lot more time around

Having been to Japan I think the commenters touched on it as well as what you are saying.... It’s basically a hybrid of Akihabara in Tokyo, Dotonbori in Osaka, and GitS (not just the hyper-density, color, and skyline, but obviously the music). It’s Japanese-influenced, but only a very small and flashy chunk of it, and
