I asked Bungie if they're planning a patch, but they declined to comment. Here's hoping they patch the Vault sooner, rather than later. It'd be a shame to see the game's coolest dungeon fall by the wayside.

This pretty well covers it. Those who don't buy the dlc probably don't need these missions every week (it is already confirmed it wont be this way every week). It is mainly for gear and bonus xp they likely already have.

The commendation situation applies to everyone, dlc or no, and raid items aren't needed for anything but raid gear/hard mode raid. Early reports from friends are the new story missions are an improvement.
