Putting in a faster processor doesn't have to mean shorter battery life, if the power management is done well. It does however mean the cost of the device will go up, and I don't see how that's worth it for video on paper (however cool it is in concept). LCD/OLED is suitable for video; color e-paper is needed for

I would imagine it's really no more difficult to convert RGB to CMYK than to translate both color and aliasing for pentile displays. I'm sure you could do it in the display controller with fairly minimal effort. You wouldn't be dealing with calibration/color profile issues of typical conversions because the color

Adobe's academic discount is available to faculty and staff as well, so you don't have to specifically be a student to get it. You do still need proof of employment though (unless you buy through a third party or a university bookstore that doesn't check too hard).

"Certainly startling, as I finished their predecessors more than once each."

I really wish this had an ultrawide lens. If they made a 20mm equiv prime for this it would be awesome for landscapes, which would make me much more likely to take this than a normal SLR on trips.

"Your basal metabolism is the calories you burn to keep your body going, so if your body is bigger of course your basal metabolism is greater."

Not pocketable, but much more packable. The retracing lens and smaller body size makes a huge difference compared to an slr with a lens attached, especially for that zoom range. I have an XSi and a G9, and they are two totally different beasts to pack around, especially when flying. Filters are smaller and cheaper

No, he was put on Iranian TV by the Iranian government to tell the world he was a spy.

Flash hotshoe, larger sensor, better low-light, better controls, better glass, most likely an official solution for mounting filters like the rest of the G series...

"Not only because it is sexist, but also because it just makes your company look like a bunch of undersexed nimrods."

It's kinda nitpicky, but this article should read "reheating in the microwave" from the get-go. Some people do still reheat food on the stove or in the oven, where you don't have this problem (or at least not quite the same) :)

Actually, considering they were comparing 128kbit MP3 samples, I find it kind of scary that the percentage of people who preferred the MP3 was that high. It doesn't take a terribly critical ear or good equipment to recognize digital compression at that level. Based on my experience, for MP3, 192 with a good codec is

Based on the numbers he gave, he did convert, and his syntax was consistent throughout (MB, not Mbit). In terms of MB, those speeds are where it should be for LTE, also appropriate considering he said it was faster than his cable connection.

Compared to 850mhz GSM/HSDPA the difference isn't huge, but it is a bit better. Compared to 1900 though the difference is significant. I don't know what's more common in new york, but I would think they would already have an extensive 850 deployment specifically because of all the buildings to deal with.

I assume that's what he means, that would be on par with verizon's LTE speeds (I get 20-30Mbps). Especially since he said it was faster than his cable, which would normally be in the 10-15Mbps range for most people.

Personally, I think they should develop it - I just don't think they should plan on building hundreds of the suckers that won't be used, and I think that the R&D spending should be monitored much more closely than it is currently and spent wisely instead of going towards executive conveniences.

Who said they didn't get off on the spec sheet - they just don't think it's necessary to build a fleet of them.

I mostly agree with you, but you can't clearly say she was no longer the owner since paypal also forced her to give the money back, nullifying the sale. However, by agreeing to allow paypal to mediate the situation they handed away their rights, so arguably it doesn't matter.

Because there is even less protection through most other convenient methods. Craigslist is full of scammers, both sellers and buyers. Ebay provides rudimentary transaction protection for minimal cost, which not only means you have some protection, but that you have enough users you might actually manage to sell/find
