Oh, and thunderbolt is not a replacement for PCI-Express video cards or high end controller cards, which is what those slots in the Mac Pro are really used for. Especially since the xserve was killed off.

.... how about just cutting the xeon from the mac pro. Or at least all but one model of it. It's the architecture that is strangling the mac pro's target audience. It places the price double that of the effective (for 99.9% of the population) equivalent i7 PC, instead of a more... normal mac premium of say 30%, which…
More vacation time, with a boss who's willing to let you use that vacation time for shorter days. Then you have a choice.
Having grown into more serious tea drinking in the last year, my advice is to not follow this article's advice.
Simple, I don't like them because they don't fit in my wallet. Needing secondary storage for coins is a waste and carrying them lose in a pocket is noisy, annoying, and even occasionally gets the attention of beggars on the street ("what do you mean you don't have change" - seriously, I've heard it) I'd be trying to…
I think the pre-pre-alpha of photoshop .5 did that when you selected the color black. It added rainbows and unicorns to every image on your hard drive. So pretty.
Barnes and noble has it for $11 and nook e-book is $10. Keep in mind that new hardback prices right now are basically lies - the publishers have increased MSRP on hardbacks (for example, the latest Dresden Files list price went up) to make e-books look like better deals, despite the fact that in reality the big chains…
It's $11 on bn.com, $10 for the nook version.
I've used photoshop for over 15 years, and I've never seen a built-in tool or combination thereof that could detect and extrapolate a non-linear motion path (watch the original video demo if you haven't) and then do de-blur of more than a few pixels to any real effect. This is a pretty significant step above the…
In that extreme case it's not about aesthetics, it's about being able to see more of the detail in the photo. There is a lot of value in that for researchers and historians, not to mention forensics.
It's not officially in any version yet, it's a tech demo at the moment. It will probably be in one of the next couple revisions.
Quite possibly. I wouldn't be surprised if the hotel managers in some of the smaller places don't even understand what ethernet is, and would probably forget it was even there :)
Every hotel I've stayed in the past 5 years charged the same for wifi or ethernet access.
Free hotel internet has been worthless for years, this is not just an iPad issue. It doesn't help that most of these hotels are still paying for T1s when the could supply something an order of magnitude or two better through business cable plans at the same cost.
Thanks for pooping all over my lovely morning Mr. Grumpypants.
I wasn't sure, but that train sequence has me interested for sure - after seeing that, rocksteady totally needs to release a 2.5D Batman+Robin co-op arcade scroller. That would be the absolute icing on the cake.
I have a suggestion - don't let yourself start playing when you have something important to do. This game is bloody addicting :)
It was, but in the past couple years google started substituting synonyms for words in the quotes.
Yeah, and in many racing games, I was just referring to the impression it gives comparing the shots.
I would certainly not call the popular S90/95/100 a needless brick compared to an iPhone, however good.
