I would love to ask him all about it, but EA/BioWare declined my requests for an interview with him or anyone else on the leadership team.

Jason, I’ve been a developer on more than one of these types of monolithic ambitious-but-aimless projects that eventually lurches over the finish line (late). You’ve gone through months (or years) of very real suffering to get it to that point, and when it arrives, you’re embarrassed at what’s been put out. It’s…
Isn’t that the entirety of esports and literally all sports in general?
On top of that, Nintendo doesn’t provide much in prizes for the own tournaments (zero cash), and nothing for more competitive tournaments. So fuck them when it comes to the competitive scene. They’re the reason why competitive Smash’s prizes are so small compared to other games.
I see this argument ad nauseum. I mean - I get it, Nintendo marches to their own drummer. It’s nothing new.
And here I was worried this sort of thing was subjective, and that I liked some of them. Thanks for setting me straight bud.
They’re all fighting types.
“More modern entries allow these pokemon to gain a second type...”
It’s funny how in Smash he’s got all these dark moves like grappling and wrestling.
Missed opportunity to include Dangerous Golf in that package.
yeah, I think they just wanna keep it Simple and Clean.
“I’m the man... plain and simple,” he said in a Facebook message.
Exactly! This isn’t about inclusion though its in its name, its about ease and getting plaudits for being inclusive. Seriously had they gender swaped Seiya himself that would have been something interesting, but no its Shun... It shows a fundamental misunderstanding of the property. That is why people are angry.…
It’s not really the same issue here.
“Again, I get that Shun was seen as a great male role model, but, well, we *do* already have a lot of great male role models bobbing about in media, so I find it hard to see this as a huge loss.”
The major issue is in many ways in the name of inclusion they change the one character who was already inclusive. So instead of having a sensitive and multifaceted male character who breaks expectations (that still exists in this genre) we’re now going to have a pointless controversy with none of what made that…
Let me know when they remaster Onimusha 3 so I can play as Jean Reno in all his HD glory.
Yet another “why is this even an article on Kotaku?” moment.
I don’t post notes like this in Soulsborne games, nor do I find them funny... however, getting tilted enough to make a 2 page dissertation on the matter is fucking ludicrous. Go outside. Lighten up. Do literally anything else with your life.
I saw 4 sets...is this some kind of test?
It would have helped if they’d been better actors. It’s a really fun idea though.
