Here's the way I interpreted it - Junior's an idiot. Don't think of it as him being really clever and figuring something out, think of it as ruining his first happiness in weeks by pushing a horny girl away in some ridiculous, jealous snit and just by co-incidence finding out he was being played.
This reminds me of a concert I attended where Bob Dylan did a really lackluster rendition of William Shatner's "Mr. Tamborine Man."
It seems to be a prevalent criticism of this show that the characters are often a bit dumb. I'm guessing none who lodge this critique have ever taken public transportation, gone to a mall, or worked outside the home.
