In college my professors hated power point. One of my professors had a theory that breaking everything down into bullet points allows us to paint over the weaker points, and prevents arguments from being fully developed. That's all fine and good, but now I have to use them for work, and I'm woefully Power Point inept.

@Abraham Song: I was joking, but I did read it, and I do this all the time. Someone asks me a yes or no question, and I start with "well..", or the

I start sentences that way all time, does this mean I'm lying when I tell the truth?

This actually makes sense. My bf is dyslexic but his reading comprehension is close to 100%. He said it's because dyslexia forces him to focus on each word. If you have to slow down and focus on each word, you're more likely to remember it.

Not to sound obnoxious, but this concept of why rather than what reminds me of one of my favorite quotes: "He who has a why for life can bear any how"- Nietzsche

@urpwnd: I have an ING acct with automatic savings, but its not really "targeted" savings. It's a basic savings acct that draws interest (ha, not much) with an automatic transfer feature. SmartyPig is kinda cool because it shows progress toward your goal. I don't like that SmartyPig doesn't let you "turn off" the

@LazyHippo: We haven't returned to my favorite part of the pre-industrial work ethic- work hard, play hard. People would work, yes. But then take weeks off at a time to party. I want that part back.

@nczuma: Can you explain why a contact with "Sent from my" is not reliable?

@AustinFound: I totally agree. I use mobileme for the device syncing. It's really nice when I get a new mac, I sync and everything is there. It even syncs keychain passwords. I can't get that with my google account.

I did this search and it showed

@JerseyGrrrl: I my experience the nurse/doctor dynamic is moderately realistic. Baby docs do tend to listen to older nurses because they've been at it longer, seen more and have developed a certain instinct. There are a lot of gay male nurses (although I think straight men out number them) I was surprised there were

I liked her little lecture to the nursing student. "Doctors diagnose, they don't heal, we heal." That pretty much captures the attitude of many nurses I've met. Love it. I just wish the first nurse show didn't have to be about a nurse that is also a drug addict. Nursing is interesting enough without the drugs!

@Jared Bennett: Netflix doesn't take any measures to secure their DVDs other than the DRM already on the disk, so I guess BookFree is taking the same approach?

Ener-G egg replacer is your friend if you're giving up eggs (for egg allergies or veganism.) It's kinda pricey (like ~$8) but a box will last for 6 months or better.

@b0yh0wdy: I seriously love NFS. Their service is stable and I've found it easy to use. Love em.

I've had an hdtv for two years, and I just recently got an hdtv cable box. Why? My cable company charged extra for it. I waited until I moved and got a new box to switch. I've noticed even standard channels look better than they did on the standard box, don't know why, if it's the box or the channels, but they aren't

@kg4dni: The MBP has firewire. The Macbook has no firewire.

I'm still pissed Apple dropped Firewire from the macbook.

@mtts: Rice cookers are awesome. Once you have one, you don't ever want to go back to using a pot.
