She looks out the window. Since they’re on the sides of the plane, they don’t get totally obscured with rain during a flight, plus usually that’s pretty short-lived - either climbing or descending, but the usual height of a flight is above the clouds, so.

I hear you, but my wife gets very motion sick, so she’d still need to be able to see out of the car clearly in order to maintain her equilibrium, for what that’s worth.

Hmmm. That is a challenge. Admittedly, my backseat passengers are 2 and 5, so the headroom isn’t an issue yet. Good observation, though, for folks with actual adults riding behind them.
That’s an extremely good looking car. I don’t really have anything to add to that, except that the pricing is VERY competitive as well, and there is certainly something to be said for not being a 3-series/C-class/A4.

THAT’S MY CAR!!! I bought a 1996 Lexus LS400 myself in June of this year with 185k miles for under $3k. Other than some very slight leaks in just about every hose in the engine, the car is magnificent. The engine purrs like a kitten, the seats are extremely comfortable for long drives, and everything on it still works…
Oh, yeah, I imagine that portion would be fantastic. But unfortunately that’s due to the natural beauty of the area, and poor Illinois is sorely lacking in mountains, deserts, and oceans. :-)
As someone who grew up near St. Louis and now lives near Chicago, you can absolutely skip at least all of the Illinois portion of Rt. 66 and not miss anything. Most of it has been superseded by I-55, and unless you really like corn and/or soybean fields, you won’t miss the 300 miles of nothingness in between. They…
That would be a great trip, seeing that it passes through Joliet, IL, which is about 15 minutes from my house. I’d take a couple of side trips along the way - Rocky Mountain National Park, Yellowstone, etc. - and do the thing westbound over the course of a couple of weeks (or more, if I had the time). Great idea.

Hmmm, yes, I suppose if you needed the moonroof you would be out of luck, unfortunatetly. I don’t understand why they don’t have the Bose/moonroof package available with the manual, since they do with the automatic. IDK.
