They absolutely do go around thinking that. People on this site are much more well educated about these things than most other car forums. I’m in a lot of Facebook car groups, and sometimes the level of ignorance is astounding.

I thought they were Truck Company :).
No, they closed product lines because they weren’t selling. It's happened a lot over the years without plant closures. Or if they closed, they merged two plants that were close into one.
They’re closing plants because they have products that don’t sell. Tariffs may have had an impact, but people don’t buy cars from GM, Ford, and Chrysler, just trucks.
I’m with the anti-wheel/tire package crowd. I see how those Delrays reference the OEM steelie, but the profile is just wrong. Fortunately, those are available in 18".
Drop it to the ground and put huge rims/rubber band tires on it. How to ruin a perfectly good truck.
Yeah, little less rim, little more rubber.
Beauty or good looks is an opinion and IMHO, the truck would have looked better and probably more functional “non-stanced”.
Gotta agree the wheels are retarded looking. I can’t of any vehicle in which those wheels would be acceptable. Hell the oem ones were the lowest trim package so why reproduce them in a larger version. I guess at least they aren’t black, that would be worse yet.
It’s always been my opinion that the right wheels make the vehicle look right.
Funny, I’ve got a volt and I’m always up the ass of the biggest car/truck I can find on the highway because the MPG readout broke my mind, and therefore I’ve got to break 110 mpg lifetime or kill myself, and nothing illustrates the pernicious effect of entropy quicker than watching my battery drain once the wind…
The Volt replaced a nearly free (thanks to state subsidy) leased Leaf for the wife. I got to drive it for the first 6 months while we still had the Leaf. The Volt is more or less the family car, if we need more room, I have an extended cab Silverado (cheap v-6 work truck edition) with a tonneau cover. We bought the…
I have a Prius for the same reason. It's Rock solid and I only paid $6k for it in the first place. Thinking about a Volt for my next cheap beater
So maybe I should add my NRA Life Member sticker and USPSA (action pistol shooting/3-Gun) stickers to the Volt?
That’s so funny! I traded in my 15 mustang for a volt for the same cheapskate reason (70 mile daily commute now). I thought there was a problem with my speedo at first because I noticed the same thing. I love the off-the-line torque of the volt though, you can totally jump off the line in stealth mode. Nobody…
I love driving very slow in front of tailgaters. I mean LOVE it. I kill them with niceness. I wave and give them thumbs up. I make all of my actions feel as if I am driving on ice. sloooow application of throttle, slow steering inputs, slow braking.
A someone who has a minivan and other cars, I laugh at how I drive no differently in either, but am always tailgated in my minivan and rarely while driving my other cars.
Here in Native America we will holdout for the El Camino.
Make it with a Turbo 4 cyl. engine with 200+ HP and decent torque, Front wheel drive, with hybrid electric motor driving the rear wheels for on demand AWD.
