I bet this would be useful in a city that had a lot of skyscrapers. The windows are almost always tinted already. You would probably want to limit it to the windows that got the most sun.

OK, I've thought about this and taking into account that the original article on wired was changed to reflect an error about the dates Mr. Kurzweil projected this to happen by(2030 not 2020, I'll post the link), I think I'm gonna side with Mr. Kurzweil. Not because I think his ideas are particularly sound, but because

I can't seem to find the original article, but I could swear the author changed the article to read,"we'll reverse engineer the brain by 2030". If I'm remembering correctly it was because one Kurzweil's people left a comment saying that - in his presentation - he said two decades not one. could be wrong on this.

wiki says late 2010 u.s. release... but its wikipedia, so take that with a jar of salt.

They updated the article on wired. 2030 not 2020.
