Exactly. Greed gets the best of many people. Even the ones who really have no reason to be that way. What is the point, when you make that kind of money, of doing things that are wrong for the sake of more? You have more money than you should ever need in this life. You risk it all for a few addtional bucks. This is

Preach! I love wagons especially fast ones. Do not for the life of me understand that. I will take a wagon over a blah mini ute everyday.

Yeah that was pretty much my reaction too....

LOL.  Yup I have to agree.  It’s a really cool car but most people did not know it existed especially since it lived in the shadow of the GTI..  AWD would have made this car an amazing propostion over quite a few more expensive choices.

I will just leave this here..

Pro tip: If you spend all day Thanksgiving eating turkey and watching football, then you don’t have to worry about traffic at all.”

So true. I remember some of the smallest and oldest clients I had came in for the biggest SUV we sell. No kids, no pets, no grand kids. Just wanted a SUV like their friends and neighbors. The worst part is the client that has never driven anything bigger than a Civic / Corolla coming in asking for a destroyer class

Heck that’s not a bad idea. A TRD Avalon was just introduced, and Camry sales have slumped. Nothing else would surprise me at this point ........... I remeber the Camry wagons. Just put some 4Runner TRD Off Road DNA into a newly engineered Camry wagon.  Mmmmm...

While I have never had experience with the faking of certification I agree that something was not right there.

The funy part is I have seen a Jetta S or SEon the road with GLI badges glued on the trunk. A lot of posers forget about the little things like body panels, trim / appearance packages, tires and wheels, exhuast note, proper color choices, additonal equipment, etc... You know.... the little things... LOL

LOL.  Good point.

Very true. Well euipped GLI’s were half the cost of the Prestige A4. We will not even discuss the price / equipment differences between a GLI and a S4. AWD was usually the biggest determining factor.

Thanks Tom. Yet another very well written and necessary article. I have a little insight into the appearance concern on CPOs. Audi and VW were very clear about how the CPO designation applies to various aspects of the car. Appearance was included. There were limits to glass and metal surface conditions for scratches,

I like the new look inside and out. A very competent little car made more appealing. I think this little guy will do well... I’m interested to see if they will do with the Corolla “SE trim for this redesign.

I agree. Mazda looks great. VW missed the mark on the new Jetta. Looks like a boring little brother to the Passat. I def like the previous body style better. Especially in GLI form.

“This is both incredibly bizarre and strangely appealing to me? As a fan of fun, fast luxobarges, this could be cool? But... it’s an Avalon?”

I worked for the VW group. I agree completely.

I can believe it. Trust me I have witnessed the death of deals because of doc fees, destination charges, plate fees, etc...

Thanks for that. I appreciate it. Trust me I have met some real d-bags in this business. I distance myself from them. I work really hard to be viewed as a consultant and a friend rather than just a sales guy.
