“up and AT THEM”
“up and AT THEM”
Black Adam would have made a lot more money if they just had him say his catchphrase, “Up and Adam.”
Yeah. I was hoping the site would review it (silly, I know. After all they need the space for more Don’t Worry Darling thinkpieces)
Everyone should go read The Peripheral. What a fun, thoughtful techno-thriller that was. The show’s in the same vein so far, so I’m hooked.
Lack of cohesion? Fuzzy world-building? Yup, seems like a Jordan Peele project.
I would watch the hell out of a show with him at the helm of a spaceship just for the exposition.
This is actually all really good advice, imo. I don’t want to see the cute, flirty, charming guy in the kinds of dour and depressing roles he keeps taking.
He actually invents things sometimes and puts them into his documentaries, which I think is not particularly cool
I actually do love him in this movie, and I love this movie in general. It’s completely ridiculous, but it’s a visual feast and has a camp fantasy feel to it that I think is terrific. Sean Bean is actually Sean Bee-n in this, because he’s like... a hybrid bee-man? So dumb, I fucking adore it.
“The bucket itself truly isn’t large enough to carry a substantial trick-or-treating haul”
It’s truly hilarious this is a complaint coming from an adult about a product made for a children ages 3 - 5. It’s like complaining the sippy cup you bought can’t hold 16 oz of beer.
Because they clearly tried to trick everybody into thinking there was a lid instead of just being honest about it.
why did the lid thing make me so angry
Nah, the TV series are beautiful, I like that he gets to flesh out the characters more with all those insanely great actors. His films are absolutely sublime as well though. Absentia especially hits the spot
That sounds about right. The “horror” was clearly the idea of what devoution like that could do to people. It was a mix of Salem’s lot and the Mist movies in that way to me.
Haven’t seen the Midnight Club as of yet. Just finished Midnight Mass, it was the least scary of the 3 shows to me so far. I liked it though and I like they tried to do some Salem’s lot with Midnight Mass. Shame it wasn’t more of Salem’s lot.
For the first time ever I’m going with full size candy bars this year. Call me a fool, call it a waste. I don’t care.
I found the book to be one of Gibson’s more interesting premises (and he’s had a lot of good ones) yet one of his worst written. The conflicts just never came together in a way that made sense to me, and there was quite a lot of telling, not showing, in the resolution.
I haven’t read it yet, but it’s Gibson, and for fuck’s sake, at least it’s new sci-fi.
Can we get some Old Man’s War now? Maybe get Consider Phlebas moving? Or get really whacky and try to adapt the Ancillary series?
Yeah, it's exactly like "Ready Player One." Except completely different and, you know, well written and good.
