Umm. . .there are a ton of Asian actors in Great Wall, which was jointly produced with a Chinese company and had a Chinese director. That movie has plenty of problems, but the use of a white lead was not due to simple racism but rather an attempt to create a movie that would appeal to both Asian and Western audiences.
